Have you been experiencing problems with your Tweetmeme for WordPress button? Do the number of re-tweets on your site appear to be in-accurate?
If so, you’re right to be suspicious.
If you’ve been using the Tweetmeme button to encourage content sharing on your blog, you might want to reconsider using it and instead switch to Twitter’s official Tweet button.
For almost a year now, I’ve been using the Tweetmeme button for WordPress. I noticed that on Twitter.com my followers were actively re-tweeting my articles. However the Tweetmeme button was not displaying the accurate number of tweets on my site.
I googled my problem and discovered that a lot of people were experiencing the same issue. In fact socialmediaexaminer.com recently alerted their Facebook fans that they were going to discontinue using Tweetmeme.
I just installed Twitter’s official Tweet button and you can imagine my surprise when I discovered posts that previously registered one or two re-tweets actually had fourteen and some over twenty re-tweets!
So if that’s something that has happened to you, then you’ll want to make the necessary adjustments. If you’re on WordPress just search, install and activate the plug-in ‘WP Tweet Button’ and you’re done!
